What I Wore in Venice!

July 18, 2019

Hey guys! Summer is just the perfect time for travelling right? I have just got back from Venice, and sadly back to normality. Although I am not going to miss slipping on the bridges every day I will tell you that! Before I make a post about the do and do nots of the city – this post will be a “what I wore” guide – and some useful tips for clothing in the city.

  • Just a side note, all these outfits were paired with my white Converse, the streets can get so packed and are cobbled so sandals are definitely not the first choice.

Day 1:

Travelling can be an absolute pain when in uncomfortable clothing, so that is the most important thing. Luckily it was warm in England before I left so it didn’t look too bad wearing shorts. Matched with my Levi’s I tucked in my Calvin Klein T-shirt to create a comfy but somewhat stylish look.

Day 2:

For exploring the city, I just wanted a casual outfit that would not only keep me cool but would not allow any chafing or blisters. Both the top and shorts are from Primark (cannot go wrong). The shorts also have an elasticated waist so allowed me to eat whatever I wanted without any food baby showing.

Day 3:

I am so glad I opted for a dress on day 3 – the sun really did work its magic! For a trip around the museums I wore an ASOS polka dot dress with frills down the front. Honestly this was so comfortable, and had adjustable straps, perfect for my tiny shoulders. Before you wonder why I seem to have my denim jacket a lot (New Look may I add), churches in Venice ask for appropriate clothing to be permitted entry (covered shoulders primarily) – hence the jacket.

Day 4:

On the fourth day it was time to tour the islands. I knew I would be spending a lot of time in the sun so I opted for a light and airy outfit. Paired with my Levis, I tucked in an M&S vest and added my Primark kimono. I literally bought that in a sale like 5 years ago never thinking I would ever wear it – needless to say I’ve got my money’s worth.

Day 5:

Day 5 was the last full day so this day was packed with miscellaneous activities – souvenir shopping and popping to the beach on Lido Island. This is why I paired my shorts with a H&M pink and white blouse, which I could easily unbutton when approaching the beach. To be honest, I didn’t think the beach would have been as nice as it was, so totally regretted leaving my bikini and hat in the hotel!

Day 6:

This was the day to leave, so truthfully did not think long and hard about my outfit. I simply paired my pink strappy Topshop blouse (such a lovely colour) with my shorts. It was only when I had landed back in England that the tan was truly on show – let’s just say it was worse than I thought!

Such cute outfits! My favorite is your polka dot dress and the white and black striped tank top you got from Primark. Love that you styled everything with your denim jacket around your waist haha!
