Trip to the University of Leicester Botanical Garden

October 15, 2017

Situated in Oadby, the University of Leicester Botanical Garden is the perfect spot to chill out after a stressful week studying. Founded in 1947 and surrounded by student residences, the 16 acres of land have features which include: a herb garden, water garden, cactus greenhouse and the Attenborough Arboretum.

Although it was a gloomy day on a Wednesday afternoon, this was a lovely place to visit, with lots of art by local sculptors to appreciate. If you are every in the Oadby / Leicester area, I highly recommend a trip to the Botanical Gardens as a scenic walk – an added bonus is that entry is free!

Looks like you had a great trip. Always visited botanical gardens in the summer. I bet spring time is even better.
