I was in dire need to update my brush collection, as I have used my Real Techniques core collection for almost 2 years now. (Wow)! I have heard rave reviews about Morphe as a brand, so thought I would give their brushes a try. Here are my thoughts.
I bought the Morphe Brushes 600 12 Piece Sable Brush (£11.25) Set and the Morphe Brushes 700 8 Piece Candy Apple Red Brush Set (£11.95) Both were surprisingly cheap, which is why my expectations were lower than usual.
Packaging
The packaging is ideal for travelling as both sets have a leather case, and are relatively flat and durable enough to pack in a suitcase. There is also a slot for each brush to reduce movement and damage. The Morphe 600 Brush Set also has a plastic cover on the larger brushes to protect them.

Morphe Brushes 600 12 Piece Sable Brush Set

This Set Includes:
- Brow Groomer
- Spoolie
- Flocked Sponge
- Pointer Liner Brush
- Angled Liner Brush
- Soft Fan Brush
- Smudger Brush
- Oval Lip Brush
- Chisel Fluff Brush
- Oval Fluff Brush
- Tapered Blush Brush
- Tapered Powder Brush

Thoughts
This set was £11.25 for 12 brushes, which I consider a fair price. I have had this set for about 3 weeks now, and to be honest, I am not sure whether I like it. The brushes were not as soft as I expected, some were actually irritating my skin. Every brush is really lightweight too, although some would say that’s a good thing; it feels cheap. It’s not expected from a brand as well known as Morphe. Another major downer is the amount these brushes shed. The last thing I want is to apply my foundation and then have to pick off 10 million hairs off my face.
However, the quality of some of the brushes are amazing; in particular the eyeliners and eye brushes. The finish of eyeshadows and liners look so good. It’s also great how the bigger brushes have their own case to maintain their shape.
Morphe Brushes 700 8 Piece Candy Apple Red Brush Set

This set includes:
- Tapered Powder Brush
- Tapered Blush Brush
- Flat Foundation Brush
- Oval Fluff Brush
- Chisel Fluff Brush
- Pointed Crease Brush
- Angle Liner Brush
- Bent Liner Brush
Thoughts
In all honesty, this brush set is a world apart from the Morphe Brushes 600 12 Piece Sable Brush Set, it is so much better! The brushes are a fair bit heavier, giving a more luxurious feel and the quality of the brushes are outstanding. The only downsides are the tapered powder brush, as it does shed (A LOT), and the fact that some of the brushes do not pick as much product as I would like; but that’s just me being picky. My favourite brush overall is the flat foundation because the size is so big, the product can be applied very quickly. It is also ideal for applying clay face masks.

Thoughts
Overall, I would rate these Morphe brushes a 7 / 10, purely because a lot of the brushes I personally did not like, due to shedding and pure quality. However, a few of these brushes are exceptional, so it’s not a purchase I regret. For anyone that needs a wide range of brushes, I would recommend the Morphe Brushes 700 8 Piece Candy Apple Red Brush Set, and to buy the eye brushes from the Morphe Brushes 600 12 Piece Sable Brush Set separately because they are the best brushes of the set. Hope this helps!

July 27, 2016 at 7:20 pmI find that if you buy Morphe’s brush sets the quality isn’t as good as the individual brushes. The individual ones from the Elite II collection and the Master Pro collection are amazing!
