How To Insert Daily Rituals To Carve The Life YOU Want: Self-care Starts Now

The coronavirus pandemic has got us all thinking about the way in which we’ve been living. We’re wondering if we’re actually doing as much with our lives as we could! As this strange lockdown period has reminded us, we only get one life, and thus it’s important that we’re living it to the fullest. But of course, that’s easy to say, less easy to do, right? Your perfect life won’t fall into your lap, but there are things you can do that’ll push you in the right direction. Changing your life takes time, but inserting new daily rituals and habits will allow you to carve the life YOU want; and more importantly, put self-care first. We take a look at a few of these things below.

Think About the Big Questions

Many of us spend our days wrestling with the small matters of life, such as what we’re going to do, what we’re going to have for dinner, what responsibilities we have to take care of and so on. But if we’re only ever thinking about these matters, then we won’t spend any time thinking about the things that’ll really make a difference in our future. The big stuff. For example, where do you want to live? What’s the best possible life you can imagine? What do you stand for? Answering these questions will get you into the headspace where great things can happen. Carve the life by creating the life you want, even in the form of a mental plan.

Begin Your Journey

Of course, it’s not as if you can just figure out the life you want, and then finding yourself living that life straight away. It’s a process. In many cases, you’ll have to stay patient and work on getting qualified before you’re able to launch into your new dream life. If you need to return to university, then you’ll need to find the one that’s right for you, find student accommodation, and dedicate a couple of years towards hard work. It can be frustrating to know that you have to wait for years before you can live out your dream, but it is a necessary step.

Supportive Network

No-one builds the life that they want all on their own. It’s just not possible! If you’re going to live your best life, then it’s important that you’re surrounding yourself with great people, the ones who push you to be the best version of yourself. They say that we’re all the average of the five people we spend the most time with. So it’s worth asking: who are those people for you, and do they push you forward or hold you back?

What Will Hold You Back?

But it’s not just other people who could hold you back. There could be many factors. For example, it could be that you’ve got a bad habit that distracts you from achieving your dreams. For example, if you’re socialising too much, or spend too much time watching Netflix or playing video games. If you’re going to progress, then you’ll first need to look at what your flaws could be. You’ll find it much easier to get where you want to go in life and achieve your dreams if you’re in a strong, stable, and energetic position.

These points of self-evaluation are aimed at getting you to think? How realistic is it to carve the life I want? Is it attainable and within arm’s reach. If not, it does not mean that the challenge is impossible – just that the route you expected to take may be different. Set your mindset that is headstrong enough to know what they want, and chip a little away everyday, making yourself one step closer to the dream.
