How To Style a Hoodie: 3 Tips To Elevate a Cosy Fit Perfectly

Wondering how to style a hoodie and look effortless all of the time? Hi, my name’s Nazira and I write my fashion blog, The LH Girl.  I love sharing outfit ideas and inspiration to help you stay on-trend, look stylish and learn how to pick the best pieces for your wardrobe without breaking the bank.   We all have one or maybe more, and they’re the best, most comfortable piece of clothing you could ever own.  Normally, they’re reserved for those days we all have, where we don’t feel like dressing up and just lounging around or those all-important gym days.

Look 1:

Look 1

PULL&BEAR Mickey Mouse Hoodie (£29.99)

TOPSHOP Satin Skirt (£35.00)

AND OTHER STORIES Plain Coat (£169.00)

ZARA Pearl Mules (£39.99)

Look 1 is very feminine but with a hint of edge that is brought to this outfit by the hoodie.   I paired this cute Mickey Mouse hoodie with a satin slip skirt because I think the contrast in textures just works really well together.  The satin skirt and the pearly, kitten heel mules add that luxurious feel to this outfit.  Finish off with a coat that pulls in a hint of blue from the Mickey Mouse print and you have yourself an outfit that’s ladylike but also informal at the same time.

I should point out that this particular hoodie is actually from the men’s section, so don’t be afraid to see what you can find there.  Often, the fit is a lot more oversized and actually looks a lot better because let’s be honest, who even wears a tightly fitted hoodie!?

 H&M Grey Hoodie (£17.99)

TOPSHOP Hayden Jeans (£40.00)

OFFICE Veja Riobranco Trainers (£80.00)

MANGO Contrast Flap Trench (£139.99)

I’m sure everyone owns a grey hoodie!  Looks like the most boring piece of clothing, but is the comfiest.  You could literally just live in it!  It’s like a hug.  So I decided to keep this look casual and a lot more laid back with the boyfriend jeans and trainers.  And to elevate this grey hoodie, I added a classic trench coat.  The trench coat is a timeless classic and what was once always seen styled with a suit and briefcase, is now a piece of clothing that is both versatile and transitional.  So, if you haven’t got one already, now is the time to get one.

ZARA Basic Hoodie (£15.99)

MANGO Mixed Leggings (£19.99)

ASOS Biker Boots (£35.00)

TOPSHOP Heritage Blazer (£69.00)

Look 3 is a little more on the sophisticated side with the tweed blazer. This is my go-to if wondering How To Style a Hoodie. I’ve kept the same tones throughout this outfit as it gives a much more put together feel and have added this seasons leather and biker boots.  Leather is everywhere, from trousers to shirts and even dresses so wearing your hoodie with a pair of leather leggings is perfect.  I was thinking knee high boots but couldn’t resist the chunky biker boots, again another on trend piece, and the gold metal work compliments the tones in the hoodie and blazer too.

Which one’s your favourite?
