April Blogging Income Report – My Most Successful Month Yet!

I started this blog in 2015 as a new years resolution – and I am just as surprised that this has carried on. I cannot believe it has been a whole 6 years! This blog has survived through GCSE’s, A-Levels, Degree and now a full-time job. Before sharing my stats, I do want to disclose that my blogging income is based on part-time blogging (it is not my job), and the fact that I only started focusing on professionalising in August. In addition to this, the lockdown has made it a LOT harder for brands, and therefore smaller budgets mean fewer opportunities for bloggers. Here is my April Blogging Income Report!

*This post contains ads for my own product.

*At no point am I trying to brag or put down others, undeniably with blogging – hard work equals to the majority of the reward. My sole focus is not to make money, it is to push myself at creating content my readers will love*

I will constantly say that making money should not be a driver for having a blog. Making money can take months, if not years! For this reason, there are easier ways to make money if that is what you want to do – but blogging should be solely focused on content creation.

Blogging Income Report For April 2021

Advertising – £6

In April I only had two advertising slots filled. A little lower than usual, but when your focus shifts to other things – and the package is not promoted as much, these things happen. I had the loveliest bloggers to promote this (Lynn Mumbing Mejia and Goal of Happiness), and I was so happy sharing their content!

Sponsored Posts – £15

I have been working with s publishing company for about 18 months now. For £15, they supply a post written by a freelancer and include sponsored links. I usually have 1-2 posts sent over to me every month, and I get to chose whether to post them . I am also allowed to change the post however I wish, if the niche does not completely target my brand.

If you are posting sponsored content, always remember to post a disclosure at the beginning at the post. In addition to this, check the links within the post to ensure they are not harmful or disturbing content which will discredit your blog.

Affiliate Links and E-Book Sales – £15

Although this is not as much as I would like, last month I secured my first affiliate sales and released my first e-book. After 6 years of blogging I am so glad I have been able to monetize my blog and it actually pay off. It is such a rewarding feeling, and I am hoping to build upon it in latter months.

Link Insertion – £15

I work with another company which focus on link insertion. For a couple of minutes work, this is an easy way of making money, however, it is capped. I work with this brand up to twice a month, and they source relevant links that would suit a particular post – and ask for the link to be embedded in the text with a couple of sentences surrounding it. I do not promote products I have not tried, therefore these links are usually further information, infographics or news articles that are relevant to the piece.

Get Blogged – £125

This month, I was accepted for 5 Get Blogged posts. For anyone that has not heard of this platform before, it is a directory where you can apply for gifted and link insertion posts for payment in return. As my blog fits within the DA 10+ category – each Get Blogged campaign is woth between £25-50. I had no idea that I have been accepted for so many campaigns, but I love that with this brand, I can write my own content and simple embed a link into the content.

Brand Collaboration – £71.76

I was very fortunate to have been able to work with the same company over the past 2 months. Although I cannot mention names, it is a brand that fits perfectly with my niche. They have only asked for a couple of sentences about their brand within a post and the services they offer – I wish I could say more because it has been so useful to me!

Total Income:

£247. 76

Considering in the whole of 2020 I made £383.40, this is a massive increase and I am well on track to smashing my goals this year! I love having a blogging income report I can be proud of!

Gifted Items Value:

£101

I have also released my first e-book – I would appreciate it if you checked it out! It is all about blogging burnout, and how to achieve more by doing less! Check it out!
