So recently I bought the Urban Decay Perversion mascara as I have heard amazing reviews about it. It’s always just been one that is constantly talked about, so why not add it to the collection? Keep reading to hear my thoughts and whether Urban Decay Mascara is worth a buy.
Packaging
I bought the travel size version because this mascara was step-in for my regular mascara, which I ran out of (Maybelline Falsies), and to also try something different. The travel size is also so much cheaper and therefore does not feel like a commitment – £8 compared to £17.70 for the full size. Compact products are so handy too! Although it may be easier to lose it, they fit perfectly in a makeup bag – easy to take to work/school and reapply when it rains!

When I received the product, I was pleasantly surprised. There was so much useful information about the application and a beautiful design on the box, which for me is incredibly useful to maximise the utility of the product. The bottle looks very thin and like there’s not much product in there but I can assure you, a little does go a long way. Touch-ups on the go are so much easier with a bottle this size (not that you need to)! The bottle itself looks quite metallic/holographic which I absolutely love *insert heart eyes here*.

With the product itself, it seems like Urban Decay has tried to fulfil many things in the Perversion mascara, but I think they have checked every box. What impresses me the most is the buildable coverage offered, which can be varied for person and occasion. The thick wand makes it easier to coat all your lashes in one stroke, saving time for you but not compromising on the outcome.
Application
Although Urban Decay says to not wiggle, it’s my secret to getting volume at the lash base and reducing clumps. As for longevity, it lasts all day – most days I will have mascara on for up to 14 hours. I have had this product for 6 weeks, with no midday top-ups as this mascara does not disintegrate; looking just as good as in the morning.

My only problem is that due to the length of my lashes once the mascara is applied, it does seem to smudge on my eyelids and under my eyes. I think it is because the mascara takes a little longer to dry than most mascaras. However, once it is wiped away everything is back to normal.
Urban Decay Mascara: Final Verdict
Overall, this is the wonder product I have been looking for! It is almost perfect (minus the smudging) and I would rate it above any other mascara I have used. I have never been disappointed with UD products, and the Urban Decay Mascara does not disappoint. If you are sceptical about purchasing, consider the travel size (it’s only 4ml) at £8 it won’t hurt your pocket. A definite favourite for me.
